Men of the Year 2018

In response to GQ’s dumb “Men of the Year 2018” (which included women? What?), I’ve compiled a list of some of the real men of the year 2018. I’ll probably keep popping back in every time I remember another one LOL

In no particular order :

Father Richard Heilman

from Father’s Facebook profile.

From the Combat Rosary, to the “Make American Holy Again” spiritual combat campaign, Father Heilman is one-of-a-kind,  relatable, and wicked cool!

Always faithful, never faltering warrior for Christ. Fr. Heilman runs  , fights many spiritual battles and encourages others to do so and teaches them how, and he also writes some pretty rad articles.

Spiritual Ammo Can Set available on

His bio on the blog OnePeterFive explains more about his work:

“Fr. Richard M. Heilman is a priest of the Diocese of Madison, Wisconsin, and the Wisconsin State Chaplain for the Knights of Columbus. He is a regular guest host on Relevant Radio’s The Inner Life, and is the founder of the Knights of Divine Mercy, which is an apostolate for Catholic men’s faith formation.. He is also he founder of the Ladies of Divine Mercy, which is an apostolate for Catholic women’s faith formation. He is the author of the Church Militant Field Manual and the Roman Catholic Man website, which are both dedicated to helping Catholics understand and train for their role in the mission of combating evil and rescuing the souls of our loved ones who have lost the precious gift of faith.”

Personally, from what I’ve seen and encountered with Father, he is one of the top models of masculinity and “manliness”. His writings and very “up to date & relatable” ways of spreading and teaching the authentic faith, all the while helping us learn to truly fall in deep, crazy

The Combat Rosary! Available at

love with the Bride of Christ, is seriously one of the coolest and attractive “faith formation” / “evangelization tools” I have seen in a LONG time.

I strongly encourage anyone who has not heard of his work to go check it out ASAP.

Father Chad Ripperger

Father Chad Alec Ripperger is an American Catholic theologian, philosopher, exorcist and priest. His talks on the youtube channel Sensus Fidelium are widely known and extremely helpful, especially to the Traditional Catholics (yes, we struggle with Pride, it isn’t a secret.) Video below: my personal favorite.

I think we can all agree that having a good, faithful, (exorcist), FSSP, priest to answer our questions about Catholic life is a blessing from Almighty God. 🙂

His full bio below is from Our Sorrowful Mother Ministry:

“Fr. Ripperger is a leading expert in the area of spiritual warfare and exorcism. He is a well known and sought after speaker. His education and first hand experience make his presentations highly informative and interesting. He always provides a plentitude of insights into the Catholic faith and traditions that give any listener an abundance of information on which to meditate.”

“Fr. Chad Ripperger was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming. After completing a Bachelor’s in Theology and a Bachelor’s in Philosophy at the University of San Francisco, he completed a Master’s in Philosophy at the Center for Thomistic Studies at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX. He then attended seminary and completed a Master’s in Theology at Holy Apostles Seminary in Cromwell, Connecticut. After joining the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter, he was sent to Rome and completed his Doctorate in Philosophy at the University of the Holy Cross. Upon ordination he spent a year in a parish in Omaha, Nebraska and then was assigned to St. Gregory the Great Seminary in Seward, Nebraska, the diocesan seminary for the Diocese of Lincoln, NE. After teaching 4 years at the diocesan seminary, he taught for 6 years at Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary in Denton NE, which is the main seminary for the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter in the United States. He spent 3 years as a pastor in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.”

My parish priest

My confessor, my pastor, one of my hero’s. He currently says both the TLM and OF at his parish: he runs two Churches, a school, and the Boston Marathon! His very approachable and “non-judgmental” 😉 exterior, with humble and dedicated trad interior makes his sermons invigorating, his masses reverent, and his advice on point. I can attribute so much of my spiritual growth to him, (well, to God first but, you know what I mean.. right?). During the Summer of Shame, he especially keeps us on fire for the true faith, encourages us to keep hope in the coming (and current) battles, and is not afraid to tell us when something is wrong and must be avoided. Please keep him in your prayers, as since he is such a faithful priest he has many, many enemies and personal (literal) demons working for his fall and damnation.

I mean, come on, how can he NOT be on this list? 🙂

Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke

Raymond Leo Burke is an American cardinal prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He is an archbishop and the patron of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. Also known as Liberal Catholic’s favorite scapegoat, one of the most revered prelates of the youth, and Dubia Cardinal. (Still waiting on that Pope Francis… no hurry I guess… it’s not like it’s important or anything 🙂 )

His voice in the wilderness, especially during the Summer of Shame, has been like a torch guiding us gently towards Christ.

James Grein

You may not know the name, but you most certainly will know the face. Previously, only known to the media as “James”, Mr.Grein is the young man in the photo below with the demonic, Cardinal “Uncle Ted” McCarrick.

‘I was the first guy he baptized,’ James said. ‘I was his little boy. I was his special kid. I was the kid he always sought out.’

He was abused by McCarrick for EIGHTEEN years beginning at the age of ELEVEN. He told his story for the first time ever at the Silence Stops Now rally this November.

Father Paul Kalchik

Twice was a victim of sexual abuse, the first time by a neighbor, when he was 11, and the second time by a Chicago-area priest when he was a teenager, Father Paul Kalchik is the priest in hiding for fear of his life because of a Gay flag-burning “incident”.

Father Dwight Longenecker gives the “short version” of the story from Church Militant:

“Fr Kalchik is himself the victim of sexual abuse. He was raped as a boy and then as a young man of 19 he was attacked by a gay priest.

Fr Kalchik was the pastor of the parish of the Resurrection in Chicago. This parish was established by Cardinal Bernardin as the “gay friendly” parish in Chicago. At the dedication a big rainbow banner infused with a cross decorated the sanctuary. By Fr Kalchik’s time the banner had been removed, but parishioners angry with the gay sex abuse scandal in the church decided to burn the banner in a public ceremony on church grounds. Fr Kalchik was warned by Cardinal Cupich not to proceed with the ceremony. Fr Kalchik held back, but the people went ahead with the banner burning.

Cardinal Cupich ordered Kalchik to leave. He refused. Then Cardinal Cupich sends two of his senior clergy to tell the dissident priest to pack his bags because he needs to go to a notorious pastoral center for a psychiatric evaluation. They hint at his death. They pressure him to leave and threaten police action to remove him from the rectory. So Fr Kalchick does pack his bags, but he slips out the back door and disappears.”

Church Militant has a full exclusive interview with Fr. Paul, who is still in hiding.

Gabriel Castillo

THE Catholic youtuber for evangelization today! I say this out of bias, because his channel led me into serious Catholicism and towards Christ.

He currently has 3 channels:

True Faith TV – focused on shorter, very interesting videos from other sources such as, “What About Altar Girls? – Cardinal Arinze” , “Our Lady of Fatima on Fox News”, “Cardinal Burke Communion Kneeling and on the Tongue”, and so on.

True Faith Talks – Whole talks given by Gabriel himself, focused on the Eucharist, Confession and Modesty and many other topics.

and Gabi After Hours – More artistic, informative videos such as, “THE EUCHARIST: 5 things from the EF we can/should do in the OF”, “Catholic Baby Names and The Saints”, “An Easy Way To Become A Saint” and so on!

Here’s one for the season! 😉

The courageous priest who became homeless after reporting abuse on children a few weeks before the McCarrick scandal broke.

You can read about his story here.

George Neumayr

Photo from The American Spectator

Mr. Neumayr is one of the Catholic warriors out on the battlefield asking all the hard questions and digging deep for the answers. Because of his honest investigations and articles, he deals with much backlash from laity and dissident clergy alike. He is one of the great soldiers battling for the cleansing of the Church, and for the truth to be set free, and he should be admired and prayed for. (Guess what? I got to meet him in person! That was really cool!)

Mr. Neumayrs official bio can be found here.

“GEORGE NEUMAYR is co-author of the national bestseller No Higher Power: Obama’s War on Religious Freedom. He is a contributing editor to (and former executive editor of) The American Spectator. He was op-ed editor for Investor’s Business Daily and has written on politics and religion for many publications, including The Washington TimesThe Daily Caller, National Review Online, Human EventsNew Oxford Review, and The Guardian. He is the former editor of Catholic World Report and a former media fellow at Stanford’s Hoover Institution.”

Joseph Sciambra

Mr. Sciambra has the word “gay” written on the bottom of his shoe: knowingly stomping on it every day. 🙂

Mr. Sciambra’s story is a long, heart-and-gut-wrenching story which you can read on his website here. Long story short, he was swallowed by the gay lifestyle, became a porn actor and escort, and then completely changed and gave his life to Christ after almost dying because of a diabolical, violent orgy.

His writings and stories reach deep into the depths of one’s heart, mind and soul and shows the unbelievably miserable and lacking life that same sex attracted people have and feel. He continuously denounces homosexuality, and writes about many homosexual topics that are affecting the culture today, including the heretical priest Fr. James Martin who promotes sodomy, the very real dangers of AIDS, STDS and the act of sodomy itself, and most importantly, that the empty hole that every same sex attracted man feels is actually one that CHRIST alone can fill!

His main message is one of HOPE for those who are so utterly swallowed by Satan and the sin of Sodomy; that Christ can completely change your life, no matter how sinful you have become. That real masculinity is possible (he promotes his group, “The Sons of Saint Joseph” especially for this and for help with purity and chastity.) And that… NO, you are NOT “born gay”, that there IS a way out, and that he is living proof.

In addition to speaking out online and in person, he stands outside the gay sex clubs that he formerly was a part of, and hands out rosaries to the poor lost souls, usually while wearing a shirt that says, “Jesus Loves You”, and promotes his website.

He attends Gay parades and rally’s wearing “ ” which is his website, and gives out rosaries and cards that promote his website. He gives his whole heart for the salvation of the lost, broken and miserable, while looking at them as they are, made in the image and likeness of GOD! Human beings created BY God; for whose eternal salvation Christ DIED! Precious precious souls that Christ so longs to come to Him. He posts photos on his Instagram of some of the people he meets and talks with, asking for their prayers. One can see his great love for their souls and his great spiritual strength in being able to face the same lifestyle that he had been trapped in for so long, but on the side of Christ!

In an interview with OnePeterFive, he says, “..there’s a desperation in homosexuality and a lot of times it comes from a good place where you are just desperate for love and desperate for acceptance, and desperate to be affirmed.  Especially if you’ve come from a childhood of abuse.”

He also says, ” so many priests that either told me that I had been born gay or that actually I should go back to the gay lifestyle,”

I can’t stress enough how much of a hero I find this man is. I wish there were more like him. I wish I could do what he does!

“I just give them a simple message, and it’s that you do not have to be gay.” – Joseph Sciambra

Everything I do for the babies and moms, I do in protest of pre-born child killing!”

Affectionately labeled “The Protest Priest.” Constantly promoting Life on social media, as well as in real life.

President Donald Trump

Did you really think I’d forget about the President?

John Ritchie

Director of Tradition, Family, Property Student Action.

His official bio is from their site: “John Ritchie is the director of TFP Student Action.  Starting with only 300 email addresses, he expanded TFP’s outreach and built a network of 170,000 students and parents who fight for moral values.  When he’s not at the TFP National Headquarters in Spring Grove, Penn., he’s on the road, running campaigns for true marriage or for the unborn, visiting college campuses with teams of volunteers, training the next generation of culture warriors.”

Another warrior right in the trenches and on the front line.

One scheduled rally:

Bishop Paprocki

One of the few American Bishops that has spoken out against Gay “Marriage”, Abortion, Communion for Divorced and Remarried… (basically everything that every Bishop should be openly condemning and speaking out about.)

A faithful soldier for Christ and for the Church.

Father Philips

A truly extraordinary priest who has done marvelous work in renewing the Church (literally and figuratively) in Chicago. Founded the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius, renewed his parish building inside and out, and now is bursting with thousands of families and many priestly vocations.

Unfortunately, he was wrongly accused of sexual abuse, and even though it has been cleared up and he has been found innocent Cardinal Cupich has barred him from ministry and defamed his name publicly.

Bishop Morlino

Bishop Morlino was a strong, vocal and holy prelate who promoted the truth faith, including the fact that thereARE gays in the Catholic Hierarchy” and a “homosexual subculture that must be rooted out”. He has since passed away this year: requiescant in pace.

Michael Voris

You had to know this was coming 🙂 Whether Catholics like his tell-it-like-it-is way of speaking or not… we need to ask ourselves….. is he wrong?

I’m proud to say that I’ve met him in person, and am very blessed and thankful to have found

My Dad

One of the manliest, virtuous, most patient, kind, and awesome guys I know; my Daddy. ❤

There are so many more that I know I’ve forgotten but, I think this covers a good portion. 🙂
