 Glories of the Morning

a poem by me

Morning glories seem to me,

as wee trumpets loud proclaiming,

in early mornings light they be,

with bird and sun exclaiming.

Unified as one heart beating,

they all appear to cry,

with joyous and resounding pealing,

attentive to the sky.

“Arise!” they shout with joie de vivre,

“to Him raise exaltation!”

What earnest laud raised persistently,

with such carefree celebration!

I like to think if He permit,

they receive Him in the Host,

of what veneration would they give,

to the One they love the most!
